Pros

Great, engaging atmosphere. Coworkers are generally intelligent and fun to be around. Company sponsors fun events for staff regularly. Employees are evaluated regularly, and I've found management to be helpful and encouraging. The work itself is great for people who want to work with meaningful, interesting data, and who want to learn market research from experts in the field. Working at Hanover means being around smart, driven individuals.

Cons

Hanover does not pay well for this area and this type of work.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your time at Hanover and making the most of the opportunity to learn from the smart, kind and talented individuals around you. I appreciate the feedback regarding compensation. We benchmark our salaries against similar companies in the area regularly and are constantly working on ways to add value to our employees over and above their monetary compensation. We have made significant investments in training, professional development and office culture so that employees can get more than just a paycheck at the end of the day. We do welcome feedback so please keep sharing your suggestions with management through the various feedback options we have available to employees.

Pros

Hanover has a very friendly and open company culture, as well as very engaging and challenging work. The timelines are short so you will always get to work on new assignments.

Cons

The pay is pretty low for the level of talent Hanover is trying to attract.

Thank you for your feedback, I am glad you enjoyed your internship experience at Hanover. We review our intern program annually including the hourly rate to ensure that we are remaining competitive with other similar programs in the DC Metro area. Our hope is always that the focus on professional development including developing writing, quantitative analysis and survey design skills remains the main attraction to the program but understand that our intern compensation needs to align with the market. Again, thank you for your feedback.

Pros

Ambitious company culture, growing very quickly, compensation can be great if you hit benchmarks. You manage your own time (pro if you know what you're doing). Great benefits package. Community focused. Friendly people.

Cons

Just started a standardized on-boarding process and it shows. A lot of self teaching which is fine if you pick the right mentor, but since everyone is out for their own gain, you get a lot of "this is how i do it, but that's just me" and "they tell you to do this, but it takes so much time I wouldn't bother", so you come across a lot of work that needs to be redone before you can get to your own job. I wasn't taught how to generate contact lists (an essential job function) until I had been calling for a week and a half. Also, because they're expanding so quickly, directors and associates found themselves bumping into each other's potential clients. I didn't have a director for almost the first 3 weeks I was in the position, and found myself with very little to do, and zero guidance, and when I finally had a director assigned to me, it was a guy who worked in another office. As a new employee, I don't think that was very fair for either of us.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed your co-workers and some of the additional benefits of working at Hanover. Adding so many new revenue staff this year presented new challenges specifically in regards to onboarding and training everyone. Your feedback related to core skills you needed to do the job as well as recommendations have been passed along to the Sales Learning and Development team and we do hope to improve on the overall onboarding process moving forward.
