The company had decided to become a business instead of a family so, Wall street comes first. This reflects from corporate onto the employees who are no longer valued. Skills are no longer valued in their "anyone can do the job, just read the work instructions" setting. It's more about numbers than quality. The attitudes are extremely negative and the company refuses to believe there is a problem. Harley was once one of the best places to work, but the atmosphere since the new management took over makes it nearly unbearable to work in. No sick days. Noisy and no radios for anxious workers. Mandated overtime. Too much paperwork and too many nonproductive meeting. Mostly disengaged workforce. Very angry and stressful atmosphere.

There are entire areas of the company where there is no career path to be had. The engagement scores for the company are among the lowest that the Gallup company have ever come across. The advice from the top down was that engagement is the responsibility of the employee, which in itself is an issue.
