Pros

I have been working at Harness full-time for a little over 2 months now. - Great people: I had a smooth interview, offer, and onboarding process, and people throughout these processes were genuinely helpful and kind. - Incredible teams and products - Understands work-life balance; consistently offering up health and fitness plans to keep us healthy during work-from-home.

Cons

Nothing I can think of now.

Pros

I've worked at Harness for about 7 months. Despite not getting much time in the office, I have gotten to meet and know coworkers through virtual events and activities. The leadership seems to genuinely cares about the employees and has been very accommodating for employees throughout COVID. We continue to roll out new programs to support employees as needs arise, like the $500 office stipend, wifi reimbursements, and extra days off. The work is challenging but fun, and because it is such a small start up, there is a lot of opportunity to build, create and implement programs and processes. People are supportive, helpful and open minded. One unique thing about Harness is that many folks have been in previous successful start ups, so theres a great energy of "we've done this before, and we've got this". My manager supports me and I believe there are growth opportunities for me within the business.

Cons

Harness is a start up, so it does not have the same programs, processes, resources, budget, etc as larger organizations do. While compensation is fair and competitive, it will not necessarily compete with larger companies.

Pros

It has been eight months since I have joined Harness, and it probably is one of the best career change moves that I have made. Being in the SRE space at my previous companies, I could totally relate to Harness's mission, which is of simplifying software delivery. The engineering team and the technical stack that we use are the best that I have worked with. Keeping all this aside, Harness really abides by the core values that they define. The company is fast-growing, and the work is typical of what you expect from a startup but where Harness really scores is how they treat and back their employees. The management cares about employee concerns and makes an effort to listen to their employees and try to address them. This, for me, makes all the difference.

Cons

Not much. It's a typical startup, and there are times where there's so much context switching, it just drains you. And at the same time, it's really up to the individual to manage their time and stay focused on what matters and deliver on it.
