department managers making your job harder than it should to be more "professional" when customers probably don't care and just want you to ring them up as quickly as you can

They encourage you to take risks and try new departments! There is a pay increase after 90 days of working there! Educational leave for college students helps out if you do not want to leave the company but want to pursue on-campus jobs!\ Profit Sharing checks are an amazing 3x/year bonus if the company does well!

Cons

You can start off at $8/hour.

Really great environment, and staff. I enjoyed working there and they made it easy to be promoted if that was your goal or at least be trained in other areas of interest. You usually get 2 bonus checks each year which was nice and they're willing to work around schedules for college students. They were usually pretty lenient and understanding about time off requests except around holidays. You usually get rewards or thank you credits every few months for doing a good job at work.

Cons

The pay sucked and whenever they raised the starting pay for new employees they wouldn't match it for old employees. You would've had to quit to make what the new employees started at. Raises also sucked and you didn't get a lot and you didn't get holiday pay ever. The employee discount wasn't great either.
