      Pros

      Beautiful campus, great staff, really amazing place to work. Looks outstanding on a resume, both in academia and industry.

      Cons

      Low pay relative to industry, and even compared to some other academic jobs.

      If work-life is your priority, Harvard is great. If you want to live above poverty, it is not.

      Pros

      For a healthy work-life balance, Harvard is the place. Harvard offers terrific benefits and opportunities to study to its employees. Flex time and near free gym membership are other perks.

      Cons

      The hulking bureaucracy slows everything down. Career employees are unmotivated. Salary is low. There is not a well developed incentive structure.

      Great place to work... okay salary

      Pros

      The benefits are great and the people are even better. You're surrounded by more resources than you could possibly imagine. If you enjoy working in an environment where you're constantly surrounded by bright, talented individuals, HBS would be fitting for you. HBS truly appreciates the concept of a "work-life" balance.

      Cons

      Though the benefits are great, the organizational environment overall is bottom heavy (not enough managment positions). That being said, it's difficult to move into higher level position. If you are a union employee you don't receive rasies based on performance (you only receive what the union is able to negotiate). The negotiated salary is okay (3%), but that just covers the costs of inflation.
