Nice folks - but adverse to change and innovation

Pros

The people are very friendly, both internationally as in the US. Starting salaries tend to be good and competitive but once you joined, you should not expect any growth. Generally Friday afternoons people are not expected to work and work life balance is very good. Working from home and flexible hours are accepted, but it does lead to a lack of control and management sometimes has no clue what staff is doing.

Cons

The company seems to be struggling due to lack of sales globally and in the US and because of a lack of innovation. People stay in the company for many years resulting in very old senior management. For a toy company one would expect young innovative people, but that's not the case. Many re-organisations and workforce being laid off (recently 10%)

Pros

There are some truly talented, smart people working at Hasbro. None of them are in a position of authority and they should be.

Cons

There is no encouragement for work/life balance at all. You are expected to be on call 24/7 even when you are not scheduled. Do more with less is the order of the day with no thought given to the stress level of the employee. Expect to work late often, get called at 2:00am for a problem that could wait until regular business hours and always be ready for the never ending rounds of meeting after meeting that accomplish very little. Like no raises? No promotions regardless how hard you work? Bad food in the cafeteria? Do you like being stuck in a corner and forgotten? But wait there's more. Incompetent managers and directors that give little or no direction and have been known to give directions that contradict previous directions given.
