Pros

There is a lot of potential at Hathway. We are a growing very quickly. One reason why growing quickly has been great for me at Hathway is that I have been given the opportunity to show my worth and take on responsibilities that has lead to promotions and personal career growth. Quick growth is also very exciting to observe. I have seen and been part of the hiring process for many candidates, I have been given the the opportunity to make decisions that will help the growing process and I can see the team growing and learning all the time. The statement "We Are Hathway" resonates with me at this company. I can feel the impact I am making and I know the names of everyone else who is making an impact. We really have a strong team feeling. The clients we get to work with are really cool too. We have had some big names come through and we continue to talk to more. We keep getting bigger and bigger clients. The location of the company is great, even if you want to commute from the surrounding areas. It is right off the freeway and there is typically no traffic. I came from the LA so I am familiar with what a bad commute is. I live about 30 miles away from San Luis Obispo but my commute is only 30 minutes. SLO is a great place to grab lunch. We have fun at team building lunches and dinners. The office is spacious and we have lots of snacks available. Meals are provided semi-regularly. The people at Hathway are all very passionate and smart. It is inspiring to rub shoulders with these people every day.

Cons

The downsides are up to the individual. Since I believe we can all make a change in this company it is about stepping up to resolve issues. Hathway is growing and learning all the time and therefore we are not a perfect organization. There will be work that comes in or someone you need to work with that doesn't directly make you happy but the beauty is that you have the power to speak up, be heard and make changes. A serious con that we have is: we only possess *one* ping-pong table. We would seriously benefit from at least one more table. If you are the kind of person who likes to just clock in and out of a job without interaction then this would be a hard fit for you. Decisions are to be made, friendship are to be had, you will be challenged. The work that comes in isn't always going to be what you want. But I also see that as a challenge. You aren't always setup for success, not that we are trying to get you to fail. I believe it is part of the growing pains and the discovery of working with complexities and unknowns.

Pros

I have been here roughly 4 years now, and I have enjoyed almost every moment of it. There is an overwhelming sense at the company that Employees are valued and are well taken care of. Professional and personal enrichment are encouraged. The work is challenging and the clients are top shelf.

Cons

There is an occasional scheduling issue that usually results in overtime. It is extremely rare, but I need to mention it. Most of the time everything works out great, but the occasional 60-80 hour work week can happen.

Pros

At Hathway it’s all about teamwork and a collaborative effort. Hathway embodies the “Work is Fun” philosophy, and we have smart, passionate people who keep it that way. As a top mobile agency, we have to stay on the leading edge of technology and we do. That makes it a challenging and satisfying environment for the top talent we bring on board. Our leadership team is awesome. Our CEO Jesse Dundon was named as a Forbes 30 Under 30 this year, and I can’t say I’m surprised. I’ve worked for the heads of high tech software companies, large and small, for over 20 years, and Jesse is definitely in the top 10% of company Presidents/CEO’s that I’ve ever worked with. I’ve been with Hathway for over 2 years, and I’ve watched (and helped) the company grow from 20 employees to 50 employees in San Luis Obispo, and we have 3 employees in our new San Francisco office. I’m impressed that we have been able to grow so dramatically, and yet still maintain the fun start-up culture where everyone knows that their contribution to the company is highly valued. Whether you are a software engineer or the recruiter, you know that you truly make an impact on the success of Hathway

Cons

I honestly don't have any reasons to feel that Hathway isn't a great place to work. We do have an open space environment – this promotes the collaborative work environment we all enjoy, but it can be a challenge to find a private place to meet and talk on a day that our conferences rooms are booked with meetings. Luckily, we have very little bureaucracy, but as we have grown, I’ve seen that approvals to move forward on something can get stuck at the top for too long before a decision is made.
