We appreciate your candor and the fact that you feel like Hawthorne is a good place to work. We do regret that your management and leadership experience was not also positive. We are working on implementing more manager and leadership training as well as structured processes and procedures that will hopefully create a consistent environment across the organization. Cons

A lot of nepotism and a boys club, including a few favored females. No structured training for your specific job position - it is a “sink or swim” mentality towards the new hires and that is a direct quote from several managers there.

Over the past few years we developed and implemented our Hawthorne Technician Apprenticeship Program (HTAP) and also our Hawthorne Technician Career Path (HTCP). We also have recently launched initiatives around feedback obtained from our Employee Opinion Survey and our Technician Survey and we are already receiving positive feedback from employees that we as a company and our leadership team are moving the needle in the right direction, increasing employee engagement and appreciation, There is always work to be done to get better and we appreciate your feedback that will help us address this.
