Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback. This is not at all the experience we want for any of our team. We want each member of the team to know that HR and the management team is committed to solutions and listening openly and honestly. If you're open to it, we'd like to hear more about your experience to what we can address to improve the situation. Please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Great PR, good app, terrible founders

Pros

Seemingly amazing product. Good people on the whole. Nice offices. Big companies licence the app. Great mission to help people, if the founders didn't only care about being rich and famous.

Cons

I was one of the original employees dumb enough to travell to the States. The founder, Rich, has been on again, off again as ceo four times by my count. Each investor learns he's a mean, spoiled little rich kid, and incompetent. Then they seem to forget, or sell off due to weird family issues. The Company portrays Andy as a saviour, former monk, but reality is a bit boring. He was a monk for a bit and a circus performer for 10 years. They are both performers. I've overheard how the founders talk to and about other employees, investors, partners we sell with, and former employees. I heard the C word more times than anyone should, plans to fire an amazing mate while his wife was undergoing chemo, vendettas against former investors and managers, and had to fight to keep my stock. Just yuck. Too many of us bought in to the promise. I came to their defence, mostly Andy's, to save the mission. What a mistake.

Pros

•Good catered food •Strong developers and PMs •Nice office

Cons

•New VPs and C-Levels coming in and out the door. Strongest voices enter into the room with no sound reasoning, just with the "loudest voice in the room" syndrome •Due to the previous point, the company is on a spiraling down trajectory, with continual cyclical periods where we work to achieve something that failed miserably 1.5 years ago •Certain leaders are emotionally abusive, creating a work environment that feels truly unsafe •User churn continues to grow as users realize there is little to no value in the app, and we have already lost most of our interested base of users to other competitors such as Insight Timer and Calm •Good work isn't appreciated, instead there is strong nepotism and favoritism towards the select few in the room •Sexism as you move towards VP and C-Level •Leaders expect contributors to churn out work until leading to complete burn-out

I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and I’m sorry you don’t feel supported by management. Your description of the work environment sounds opposite from the workplace we are striving to create. We want every member of the team to feel like their work and their perspectives are valued. We won’t always get it perfect as we grow our team and encounter some growing pains, but regardless of the changes, we want you to feel empowered to speak up. We’ll now be asking for feedback on a regular basis across the company to see where our strengths and weaknesses lie, and we intend to do our best to act on that feedback to improve the workplace for everyone – in a way that does not negatively impact anyone who speaks up. If you’d like to have a conversation to expand on your experience (this can be entirely confidential), please reach out to me directly. We take this very seriously and want to do everything we can to ensure a fulfilling, supportive work experience for the whole team. Thank you, Caroline Escalante VP of People Operations
