      Don't Do It unless you have to.

      Pros

      I Never had interpersonal issues and my manager was supportive.

      Cons

      The workload was unreasonable and most of the implementation team works 12 hours a day to keep up with the expectations and not be negatively impacted or written up. This is a high stress, high burnout, high turnover, and chaotically ran company. Do not join Headspace if you are looking for work-life balance or a reprieve of any sort because the values don't extent to its employees. They also have not been profitable for the past 2 years. It reminds me of the non-profit grind honestly.

      Sinking ship

      Pros

      The people. My mentors at Headspace were some of the best engineers I've worked with in my career.

      Cons

      This used to be a company that cared about the mental health of its employees. That ended when the board hired a CEO from Doordash, of all places. Multiple rounds of layoffs (including laying off people who were out on parental leave), halting employer contributions to 401ks, taking away Fridays off, cutting Forma benefits, dismantling DEI initiatives, on top of no promotions or compensation raises - not even to keep up with inflation - all resulted in a severely demotivated and understaffed workforce.

      Pros

      Some of the kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever worked with. Beloved brand, incredible mission. Had a rough couple of years but the outlook is bright. New CEO focused on building a stable foundation for the business so that we can truly start to innovate again in the months/years to come.

      Cons

      Still very much in messy start-up mode even though it's a long established company. Loads of processes that need cleaning up. Personally I like the building phase and being able to make constant improvements, but some find that frustrating.
