Much Room to Grow

Pros

Founders are awesome and seem to have the best intentions. Free lunch, snacks, and coffee. Group meditations scheduled into the work day. Other cool startup-y perks.

Cons

No properly defined business structure from the beginning seems to be the present day downfall of this company's inner workings. The team seems largely made up of people who are passive aggressive and they create unnecessary drama. Effective communication is key but is nowhere to be found in this place. There is great talent within the team but it's under utilized due to poor management and lack of communication. Little room for professional growth.

Pros

The clients who sign up for Headspace are thoughtful, engaged, wonderful human beings. I really enjoy working with them. Historically, Headspace has provided lots of benefits – – fully covered health insurance, etc. My colleagues are wonderful human beings and the company allows us to communicate on many different topics by a slack channel platform.

Cons

Constant change, frequently in a negative direction – – all W-2 therapists are now 1099 as of March 16, which means that our lives are upended – – no health insurance, no CEU support, no covering the cost of license renewals, no paid sickleave, no paid vacation. This is more than unsettling. The company hired the former Head of Uber to run us – – we are not gig workers!

Nothing gold can stay

Pros

Remote work, pay is not the worst around, also not the best.

Cons

Everything good about this company died with the ginger/headspace merger. Poor leadership, toxic culture, elimination of programs that provided safety and balance. Unsafe work environment. Focus is on money, not people, which creates ethical conflicts for anyone in a helping profession who actually cares about other people. Every day some new chaotic and haphazard idea becomes policy then it's abandoned weeks later after allocating all resources to it. Employees are disrespected and discarded.
