Pros

+ MINDays which means every other Fri off + some (few) good team members + it's a job and pays the rent

Cons

So many to list... - failed merger - multiple RIFs - shaky financials: 2022 and 2023 revenue performance significantly MISSED targets - depressed morale - incompetent leadership (lots of changing leaders which is both good and bad) - foolish business decisions; trying to do too much and failing - lots of benefit cuts and no raises communicated recently from the execs - they wait too long before acting and then act hard (such as no job duplication exercises when Ginger and Headspace merged...then a non-well execute RIF, then more to follow)

Pros

- Every other Friday off

Cons

- Laid someone off during maternity leave - 4 rounds of layoffs in 14 months - $5,000 to $10,000 worth of benefits cuts in the last year - No bonus payout - No raises or promotions - HIPAA violations in companywide Slack channels by executives (everyone can see the PHI) - CEO’s friends get paid a lot to belittle their colleagues and talk down to people - Multiple people say they cry regularly related to working here - When they lay off therapists, they ghost the people with therapy appointments, which is traumatizing for those people. - Last time during layoffs an app user came out as LGBTQ and got ghosted because the therapist was laid off.

Pros

- PTO - Every other Friday off - Remote (Exceptions to some states)

Cons

Experiencing stress is inevitable in any business, and Headspace is no exception. Lately, both mine and my colleagues' resilience has been severely tested due to persistent inconsistencies at both the company and department levels. The decrease in benefits, the rise in healthcare plans, and a mid-year change in the pay schedule, resulting in a smaller monthly payout, make it exceedingly challenging to rely solely on 'the mission' for motivation. Isn't there a saying? You can't pour from an empty glass? I genuinely feel like that empty glass. Despite having every other Friday off for rejuvenation, it's tough to resist logging in and pushing through work, especially with looming deadlines and diminishing teams. Let me add, I recently sought therapy to cope with the overwhelming stress. The irony isn't lost on me. It underscores a deeper issue of burnout and a sense of lacking support within the organization.
