Pros

-CEO and executive team are the best leaders I've ever worked with -Culture is a big deal, and the executive team leads the way -Middle management is excellent at helping individual contributors, like myself, to learn, grow, progress and also be held accountable for our work. -There is a high level of transparency in the company, driven by monthly (sometimes more frequent) all-team member meetings. -People I work with are very skilled, but also humble enough to take feedback and improve where possible -Company refers to employees as team members, not family. Which is a far more pragmatic and realistic approach. I think this is a major plus. -Company has a value to 'assume positive intent' which I think helps everyone work harder together for positive outcomes. It's actually something I've incorporated in my personal live and I've seen tremendous improvement in my social and personal interactions as well. -telecommuting is made possible with excellent tech. Management has really committed to make working from home as seamless as working from the office. Excellent for time when staying home is necessary/more convenient. -internal hiring is a major focus so there is lots of opportunity to move/advance as the company continues to grow rapidly.

Cons

truthfully not cons, just something to be aware of: -being a public company, there are very real deadlines. This can create very busy times and late nights -there is talent all around you. Which means you will be expected to provide high quality work all the time. No slacking!

Thank you for providing this detailed review and for sharing a meaningful list of positives in your experience at Health Catalyst. I appreciate also your kind words regarding the leadership team, and we will work hard to live up to your generous feedback. I'm also encouraged to hear of the other positives you've experienced, including transparency, humility, middle-management, telecommuting and a promote-from-within approach at Health Catalyst. Thank you also for being willing to absorb many "spikes" in activity associated with your specific, and critical, role in FP&A, and related to our public-company structure. We'll try to still ensure long-term work-life balance is possible in your position and in every other position at Health Catalyst. Thanks again for your review and for contributing to our company's success! Best, Dan

Pros

The salary and benefits are fantastic. As a remote employee I greatly enjoy the afforded flexibility. Executive leadership seems to really want each employee to succeed in their roles and to feel fulfilled.

Cons

Working remotely is a double-edged sword. It has been much harder than I imagined to stay disciplined and engaged. I recognize my responsibility to grow my own career, however it would be nice to have more support from Health Catalyst. Onboarding was a bit messy so be prepared to deal with ambiguity. It took over a month to figure out who my two managers would be. I also didn't have access to the training environments so I couldn't complete the bootcamp training. Most of my concerns are about my client placement because unfortunately they have a really negative culture. It seems my existing skill set was used to fill an urgent need rather than being placed somewhere with more opportunity. I've spoken with my team lead about this and I know they are trying to help. I just wish they were more transparent. It feels like there's a lot outside of my control. In the meantime, I'm trying to be better about self care. Usually this means taking more breaks from work because it's hard to get motivated to sit through a learning module or create a personal development plan when I'm unhappy.

Thank you for sharing this review and feedback. I appreciate it, and I appreciate the insights and the self-awareness reflected in this review. I agree with you that remote work can be very positive, and offering strong support to team members to enable them to work remotely is the right decision. Yet there are real challenges with regards to working remotely, and we as a leadership team are working to consistently understand this dynamic and work to optimize the remote team member experience, including through proactively holding regular feedback sessions with remote team members on their experience. I have appreciated the insights that have come as I've participated in these sessions, and we'll keep listening and working to optimize this experience. I also appreciate and acknowledge that we have client relationships that sometimes present challenges for our team members. Client organizations are much like Health Catalyst -- they are not perfect, and there are certainly situations in which less-than-ideal circumstances arise. Here again, we work hard to try to advocate on behalf of our team members, and we encourage our managers to hold regular 1:1s with team members, to understand what is going well and what challenges are being faced, and then to work hard to optimize the experience within the constraints that we face. Finally, I would encourage you to hang in there. We'll keep working on our side to support you, and we'd invite you to keep moving forward with a longer-term mindset, realizing that at any organization there may well be shorter-term challenges that must be faced. But I sincerely hope that over time you will find that your experience has been strong and worthwhile and positive. We'll keep working hard to enable this! Best, Dan
