Pros

HealthEquity is staffed by intelligent, driven and passionate team members who care about their customers and their place delivering consumer driven healthcare to a growing market. The company provides excellent benefits and tries gallantly to foster and maintain a positive corporate culture even as they grow at a rapid pace. The company was decisive in March 2020 and responded swiftly and admirably to the complexities of the pandemic and in so doing protected their workforce the way every company that doesn't deliver in person essential services should have.

Cons

HealthEquity's Product and Software Development organizations strive to create the Wasatch Front's premiere agile software development shop. They behave as if they are a SaaS company first and a healthcare financial services company second. The problem is that their business model is entirely the inverse - their software development and product imperatives are driven entirely by sales. HealthEquity isn't a software company, it is a Health Savings Account custodian - but their technology and product leadership keeps cosplaying as a SaaS provider when that is not their core competency. This creates a disjointed roadmap and product vision that can't be presumed to stable over the long term. This creates a rough environment for team members working in the Product Owner and Business Analyst space. HealthEquity doesn't need a product organization that interfaces with software development it needs a sales engineering organization that responds to existing and prospective enterprise scale customer needs to inform the creation of and maintenance of a roadmap.

Thank you for your review of HealthEquity! I'm glad that you feel compensation and benefits are positive. I'm also glad you've provided candid feedback about the nature of your job. I think it's important to be challenged in your role, and it sounds like that isn't happening for you at the moment. I'd suggest speaking with your leader about your career goals if you haven't already.
