Pros

Great medical benefits through an extensively funded HSA

Cons

Extremely low pay (even though they claim to benchmark against industry standards), lack of progression within the organization, broken promises regarding when you will receive a promotion/raise, toxic culture with team member tension

Stay far away from Marketing

Pros

[Most of] the people. I made lifelong friendships here and felt like we were really making a difference in the lives of Americans. The culture is great, and the team tries really hard to make it a fun place to work. I truly believe in Steve Neeleman and Jon Kessler and feel that their passion and drive is going to lead this company to do even more amazing things.

Cons

Leadership, specifically that of the Marketing department. If feeling valued and like you matter are important to you, the Marketing team is not for you. If you have not previously worked with those currently in Marketing leadership, or further, if you are a woman, you will fail on this team, the “good old boys club” will make sure of it. The number of extremely talented people that have left the Marketing team within the last year because they couldn’t deal with the toxic environment anymore is astonishing, and even though HR has been involved many times, nothing changes. They also do not offer competitive wages unless you work in tech, and think that wellness reimbursement benefits will make up for it.
