Manager doesn't mean anything, you're basically a front line worker who dis paperwork. They're VERY, I'LL REPEAT VERY strict on budget hours. You're not allowed to let employees go over 37.5 hours a week, if the employee is approaching those hours you have to send them home and do the work yourself. Vacations are a joke, after a year employees earn a week vacation, when the employee wants to take their vacation you're NOT allowed to schedule another staff to cover that vacation. You as the manager have to work the floor that week because even though the company gives you a week's vacation the hours still come out of your daily budget hours (even though those vacation hours are already accounted for) just another way for the company to save money. The DM's make promises to you and add extra work onto your already heavy work load and they use the excuse I just need to see if you're able to handle the job responsibilities, then you come to find out that you're being lied to just so the DM can pawn their work load off onto you without having to pay you or give you anything extra. I've seen a few DM's that will even retaliate against you if you don't now down to them and do the extra work they pawn off on you. As a manager you're required to travel to other buildings that are in need of help, they make you salary so you don't get anything extra for all the extra work you do. The DM's are constantly riding you too make the facility look like the Taj Mahal but you run on a very tight shoe string budget, I believe the chemical budget for all the facilities I've worked in is $250 a month, and a box of wax is almost $80, so how can you make a facility look like a brand new shiny building on $250 a month? Facilities are always running out of supplies and going to other facilities looking for what they need, linen budgets are a joke, you're always running low on towels and washcloths (they buy the cheapest you can get, that fall apart after just one wash) this company is all about making money but yet they can't/won't give you the proper amount of supplies to do the job the way they want. The floor machines buffers, strippers, auto scrubber are pieces of junk and no one wants to fix or replace then. You're expected to buff your facility daily but they only provide you with a small hand held buffer that makes it impossible to buff like you're suppose to. The managers are used and abused housekeepers/floor techs. Cheapest company I've ever worked for. And as for raised, FORGET IT!!! They start all their front line staff out at minimum wage and expect miracles from them. You get what you pay for. I had several people that I interviewed and was going to hire but lost them to a fast food restaurant because they were paid more and offered more hours. They tell you upon hiring that they offer health benefits, well those benefits are a complete JOKE and cost more than what most housekeepers make every 2 weeks. All in all unless you're absolutely desperate for work, I'd avoid this company at all cost.
