Pros

Flexibility as far as schedules. Part time and full time are available with paid holidays. Ability to take days off immediately. Occasional potluck.

Cons

The work environment is so unprofessional. The Customer service department is out of control. There is only one manager who is completely biased. It seems as if there is no structure in the department. It's very cliquish although during the interview process they portray it as a family type of environment. There is very little opportunity to grow with the company and a very high turn over rate. It's not so much what you know with this company but who you know. Often hard workers are overlooked and underpaid. For this to be an insurance company the insurance benefits are terrible. Every month there is a lunch and learn where the csr manager cooks and brings in food because you aren't allowed to clock out or leave the building for lunch that day. I think that's unexceptable and it should atleast be catered.

Quite Possibly My Worst Job Ever

Pros

Occasional pot luck. No weekend work.

Cons

Lousy supervisors. Horrible pay. High turnover rate of employees. You're not allowed to use the toilet very often. Management lie about pay rises and bonuses. Unprofessional atmosphere. Often immoral: ie having to tell a woman who was gravely ill with cancer that we were not paying for her chemo because her doctor did not get the proper "authorization" by PPC/Healthgram to give her the treatment. Supervisor's attitude would always be "you snooze, you loose" as if a woman dying of cancer has the energy to chase her doctor's employees to ensure her treatment has been authorized

Pros

Unfortunately, the best part of working for Primary PhysicianCare/Healthgram was the hours (closed on weekends and holidays) and the special occasion lunches. There are a few really good people working for this company that I was glad to know but they are shrouded by a significant number of others who are not and who engage in poor business practices.

Cons

Leadership in this organization is lacking in professionalism, knowledge of industry and management skills. As an employee of this health insurance company benefits are also through them and they were on the low end and barely sufficient. There are managers and employees who are inadequate and simply there because they know upper level management- not because they are efficient or quality workers which creates a difficult and biased work environment. The company also has little room for advancement and has a high turnover rate which is largely due to their mistreatment of employees and lack of compensation.
