Pros

You aren't required to work non stop, good work/life balance. Nice people depending on where in the company you work. Decent holiday length.

Cons

Bad management/management that have never been sufficiently trained, doesn't invest in employees, pay is terrible and won't change for a long time. A lot of de-motivated employees, seen as just a number not a person. Will dodge yearly appraisals like the plague.

Pros

Renowned company, growing in some areas Opportunities (for example interviews, premieres, celebrity events) that other work experiences cannot match Decent holiday allowance

Cons

Relies on its name and strong brand awareness to such an extent that the realities of being an employee are disheartening, unrealistic in terms of salary (given the roles), and from what I witnessed leads to a 'brain-drain' effect - only the privileged can afford to begin their career (/get their foot in the door) here on the journalism side
