Pros

Great colleagues Good benefits Established company Handled Covid well for employees - employment protection, care packages etc.

Cons

To move up, you will benefit if you are German and/or Male Little to no understanding of "diversity". Still measure number of female employees as the key diversity measure. For Americans, this is archaic. HR serves other vendors of the company than the employees or the company itself. No central repository of career plan, ratings etc. Upward mobility is solely tied to networking and perceptions

Henkel Response

First of all, we want to thank you for your time as a part of our team. For more than 8 years, you have discovered that we at Henkel offer more than jobs. Thus, we are pleased that you have appreciated your colleagues as well as the various benefits we have offered you. The impressions you described in your review already give us a first idea, but we would be grateful if you were able to describe in more detail how we can promote the development of our employees even better in the future. Therefore, if you approach your former contact in the HR department, we are confident that we will be able to improve in this respect. Best regards, Your Henkel Team

Toxic R&D environment

Pros

Overall, Henkel is a good company to work for with fair compensation and benefits. The company provides opportunities for movement and career growth.

Cons

The R&D department in Darien is a very toxic and unhealthy work environment thanks to senior management. HR is well aware of the issue as employees have complained over and over, but yet nothing has ever been done. The department is run like a dictatorship, retaliation is acceptable and there is no accountability or consequences for senior management. This is a fundamental issue, which desperately needs to be addressed before someone files a lawsuit.
