Pros

A lot of great people that care about you. Interesting projects

Cons

Do not listen to other reviews that say these long hours are the norm for the industry. Maybe for the giants like HP but there are plenty of construction companies that don’t expect you to work 10+ hours a day. They preach Quality of Life but have zero way to implement it at all. I have moved over 5 times in 2 years with the company. The benefit package is good but the base salary is low. You can make really good money if you plan to stay 6+ years but good luck lasting that long. There are plenty of men who work here who only see their children on the weekends, if that. Communication is terrible when it comes to relocation. It is extremely difficult to plan your life when you can be moved to a different city or even state with a weeks notice. If you don’t want your entire life to be spent at work, definitely choose another company. With most supervisors it’s a sink or swim mentality with no guidance. I’ve felt extremely undervalued and feel like an HP pawn.

Pros

There aren't many pros. You have a lot of responsibilities and that can be rewarding when your job is done and you look back at it.

Cons

The hours are always long. A 60 hour work week is a minimum and salaried employees do not get overtime. Weekend work constantly. Lots of propaganda saying "just wait and your time will come". Even higher positions work 24/7. Just a bad company dynamic and expectation.

Pros

OK compensation Good health insurance Great projects

Cons

Work-Life balance was non-existing. Long hours demanded and vacation days are reduced to 10 days a year. For a normal human being burnout is guaranteed! The company has a very strong culture of overwork and alcohol addiction. When not participating in the project gatherings you are simply left behind and excluded from the Phelps “Family” If you need to make money quick at a very high price (health wise) this is the company for you
