The Company is so profit driven that it is downright dangerous to work here. Management is very adept at creating scapegoats of anyone, anytime something goes wrong. Safety is a facade which is cast aside whenever it becomes inconvenient. Because of the atmosphere, you don't attend many retirement parties at Herc.

1) pay increases are extremely low, about 1-3% a year 2) management can be nasty and difficult to deal with, no wonder turnover is so high 3) benefits are terrible compared to other large companies 4) not much room for advancement 5) people work in silos 6) don’t expect HR to give you an overview of benefits before you start 7) in the office 5 days a work; even Hertz is hybrid 8) very high turnover, even though not many major employers in the area

Bad insurance, unpredictable hours daily. Management and upper management are number crunchers. It’s not a trucking company, it’s a rental company that trucks stuff

Long hours and will get longer if you’d like to move up. Family business you might not get promoted over someone’s cousin/nephew

Herc employees at an onsite branch can make more money by working at an offsite location but you have everyone to deal with. at certain locations there is no room for advancements unless you want to move locations.

Upper management not willing to help train and guide.

Hr doesn't care when reports are made about safety and inappropriate behavior. Management from local to regional are the aggressors and sweep everything under the rug. The lazy are rewarded and the hard workers get the worse end of it and eventually let go

Very low pay yearly shutdown

I have been here for almost 10 years and can't think of one true con of working here.
