Pros

OTHER SALES ASSOCIATES TURNED FRIENDS

Cons

Ive worked in sales and sales management for over 40 years-i never treated PEOPLE like i was treated by this manager. from the second week of my almost 3 years of hertz employment he found it funny and to his necessity to berate and belittle me not only in private but out in the open in front of the staff and other sales representatives. I have a mental issue which causes me to forget...one day this mgr called me into his office and was showing me something with AI, he was having trouble remembering how to do what he wanted to show me and he made the comment "oh Im having a mental issue day just like you" there are numerous examples, the most horrific thing he does is to almost on a daily basis to threaten our jobs-out of the blue he would take the lead system away from us, this is just the mgr-HERTZ CAR SALES is run by a bunch of bean counters who know nothing about the car sales industry-changing of policy by store mgr what seems like every week, makes it impossible to find and be consistent in how they run these offices where mediocrity is the accepted norm, I was the number one representative almost every week since I started to work at HERTZ . Working for hertz was an experience i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Pros

False hope of being able to be promoted from within.

Cons

If you want to put, years or decades into a company for them to still never recognize or reward you, this is the company for you. For a company that has been around for so long, they really have no idea how to run an organization. Don't take my word for it, check their financial track record. If you think a company that can't even make a profit and has filed multiple bankruptcies will train or reward you properly, then you our sadly mistaken. Save yourself some wasted time and work anywhere else. Maybe even one of the other rental car providers thay actually have their systems and processes figured out and in place.

Pros

Monthly commission. However this is often low

Cons

Almost everything about the job is bad honestly. The pay was what kept me going for so long. If you put any sort of value on your home life, and your health don’t work here. In my 4 years at Hertz not only was I asked to work 7 days a week almost every week, but management also acts like it’s no big deal. What it comes down to is management doesn’t want to work overtime. If you ever run into something you need help with, your manager will always leave you high and dry. I wouldn’t feel wrong saying that working this job is a risk to your life either. In my 4 years with Hertz I was assaulted atleast 5x I can remember, and eventually I had to file for a restraining order against an old client due to harassment. Nothing was ever done about that. The airport police won’t even help you when you’re in trouble. Imagine how it feels being knocked out cold by someone, calling the cops, then the cops smile and laugh with the person that assaulted you, then your boss shows up claiming to be at your defense when they aren’t. I’ve never in my life seen such carelessness from a company
