Pros

Learning new cars and driving them especially if you are in the market looking to buy one.

Cons

Getting to be dishonest to nice people (customers), being outside in the freezing cold cleaning a car, long hours and very little pay. Pyramid scheme where the guys on top make all the money and the guys below do all the work and get less then a quarter. Not because you finish the BT program means u will be a BM right away, you have to go up 2 more steps and it make not have a branch for you to manage. 730am -6pm (or after) but u get 500 dollars every Thursday, it sounds good but that's basically 2000 a month ain't no one in NY can live on that type of salary for rent food and other bills. They would be hearing my mouth if I have to wipe down a car in the freezing cold and i get sick.

Pros

I liked the work atmosphere, we were in and out of the office which made our time go by fast. There was also a lot of down time where we got to have fun amongst each other. A lot of overtime. Because the turnover rate is high there is a lot of opportunity to get promoted.

Cons

Hertz has a quick turnover rate because their employees are underpaid and overworked, we worked 10 hour days Monday through Saturday and there was no flexibility in taking time off. The holidays are the busiest so that means you are stuck working while your family is getting together. Employees are constantly being pressured into selling insurance, vehicle upgrades and other things which also contributes to the stress.

Pros

You will be busy from open to close, so the day goes by quickly. You are not stuck behind a desk. The employees typically have great personalities. When you clock out for the day, there is nothing to take home with you.

Cons

Promotion is based on favoritism. If you aren't part of the clique, you can forget it. Turnover is high.
