Little training, learned everything myself, great people i work with.
Pros
The people you work with- i love those transporters because to me, they are the ones who make the place work. It is not just me behind the counter, but them who make it work to have something for them.
Cons
Judgement, ridicule, no training- had to learn everything on my own. I was hired as a part time person.. 3 days later i am contacted by my manager to say that he wants me as a full time person. He said over the phone he would be up at the counter on my first day to greet me to the company- i got there all refreshed and he was not there at all. He was down the street where all of the cars get serviced and brought up to the rental lot. He broke his little promise to me. Seeing that i got the process down, with little to no knowledge of how it all worked he left me for the evening shift- alone. My manager lives in richmond va.. about 30-45 mins from the airport and proclaimed he did not want to be disturbed later than 8pm. Reprimanded in my first week! But over time i got better to where i am today- i still make mistakes but i just needed the help i never got. I almost left because i was pushed into a corner i did not know existed. I worked in retail for almost 5 years straight in one store, i felt accepted there- it took at least 5 months for me to feel accepted or wanted at our location. He said that there are a lot of people who just “ up and quit”, “ cannot pass a drug or drivers background check”, hoping i would not be one of those people. I stuck with it and my guess is proved him wrong. But it is very poor management.
