Pros

Flexible time off as needed or warranted. Competitive wages. Focus on employee satisfaction. / Utilize external Pulse Surveys / Mgnt takes results seriously. Weathered the economic crisis well. Other companies needing handouts. Temporary salary reductions and 401k returned quicker than most companies.

Cons

Many agressive initiatives taken at same time. Sometimes difficult to execute all simultaneously.

Pros

The Economy has brought many challenges good and bad. In the realm of good is the opportunities to build new venues of income which in turn give new opportunities to employees at all levels and globally. This is exciting to be able to work with others around the world for one common goal. Our innovation and global team building is exciting to be around and work with. The new Senior Management is great to work for and like it when you think outside the box to accomplish old and new things. Things that we have had to endure due to the economy like layoffs, paycuts, benefit cuts are coming back to us just as management had said they would. I think that Mark Frissora has kept to his word as much as he can. He has had to make some tough decisions but has also been fair with giving back some of those benefits that may have been stopped or cut. Communications between Senior Management and those outside Park Ridge has increased 10 fold over the past two to three years. Before in Oklahoma City, we would never had heard any information on how the company was doing or where we were going. It is nice to get these updates.

Cons

We have had layoffs over the past few years and that has made it difficult on staff, work and environment. But these are things that have helped the company as whole to weather the economic storm we have had. Some people are still here that are not up for the challenge of change which makes it difficult sometimes to work with them. Still a few struggles with too many people not working in tandem on projects but that is getting better.

Pros

People here are great; no one has ever asked me to do anything underhand or questionable in 9 years here. People have a lot of pride in the company, leadership is strong. Very optimistic about the future - it is a great brand.

Cons

This is not the industry if you are worried about being exposed to the realities of the global economy, and sometime tough decisions have to be made (but tell me somewhere where that isn't true today?). I've seen some people fail because they didn't fit in well - another thing I'm sure isn't unique to Hertz. Tendancy to start too many initiatives
