      Cronyism and unethical sales pratices

      Pros

      Company car, 401K, abilities to learn sales tactics, business operations, logistics, and outside sales. Ability to work with some talented and hard working people.

      Cons

      Off Airport regional and General managers encouraged fraud to boost sales numbers. In fact, an individual was actually appointed into a position to teach fraudulent sales methods. This made for a very volatile working environment and made many employees uncomfortable. Promotions for managers are not based on results but rather your ability to be the "buddy" of your boss. Two area managers were promoted based on who they knew and not what they knew.

      Pros

      You'll get plenty of exposure to what the car rental industry is really like. You'll have plenty of time to commit to your position.

      Cons

      You will work 50+ hours per week There is no work life balance at all with this organization You will learn the importance of its not what you know but who you know that counts.

      Terrible....and getting worse.

      Pros

      They have a good vacation/holiday/sick policy. On site fitness center and a decent cafeteria. That's about it.

      Cons

      Management is incompetent and a lot of supervisors are the same. Pay raises are nearly an insult and won't be higher than 3% a year...depending on your review. No advancement opportunity and the opportunities that arise have excessive requirements which DOES NOT include experience within the company. Very low morale for a company this size. Outsourcing to save money yet paying 100's of thousands to Directors and Managers who are incompetent to begin with. Way to go Hertz!!!!
