Pros

The initial interviews were good and the job seemed promising but when you were sent to training it was completely different. New hires should know that they are not really hired until they have completed the 3 week corporate training course. The corporate trainers are still evaluating the candidates - you are still in the interview process!

Cons

The corporate training is 3 weeks long. On the first day you are advised that you are still in the interview stage and must meet all the companies criteria during training to move forward and work as a Yellowbook Media Consultant. Training should be a place where candidates can ask questions, discuss issues and learn...it should not be a place where you feel your job is on the line. The corporate trainers have to much influence on whether a candidate succeeds or fails. Training should not be part of the interview or evaluation stage...it should just be training!

Pros

I have worked at Yellow Book USA for over a year now. They gave me a chance when other companies would not. It Is hard work, lots of appointments per week and some cold calling. What I love is that you get paid in relation to how hard you work. First year i am on track to make 82k and next year I feel that I could make over six figures for certain. For me it is a dream since my last sales job was commission only and I could only make 45k at the most. The benefits here are outstanding as well. The base salary is okay but at least there is a decent base to get you started but it does not take long to start making commission here. I hope to stay many years and grow with the company!

Cons

The products are changing everyday and it can be a challenge to keep up with the technology. You really have to get training (which they provide) for the internet products.
