Pros

rooted in core Montessori philosophy

Cons

growing too fast micro involved CEO who doesn't understand startup vibe terrible benefits (aka no unlimited vacation, no paid parenting leave, no matching on 401k, limited paid holidays) no company culture- everyone is remote and no one knows anything else extremely disorganized- projects are mismanaged and no progress is made. when it is made, it seems we take two steps forward and one step back.

Pros

I am honored and excited to be a part of the talented and motivated HGE team. We have big plans, and we are all working very hard everyday. I walk among giants. Very exciting times.

Cons

There are no cons. All members of HGE have taken a leap with a clear mission to accomplish, and we are making it happen everyday.

Pros

The work is incredible meaningful. There aren't many companies pursuing education reform where you feel like you're making an enormous, enduring impact, but this is a palpable feeling in the company atmosphere everyday at HG. You also won't find a more dedicated, compassionate, competent group of colleagues anywhere. Particularly meaningful to me is how intellectual the company is: you're surrounded by incredibly thoughtful, articulate, philosophical people who are driven to get things right. I jumped ship from academia to join this company, and the work and atmosphere is just as intellectual as it was when I was a professor.

Cons

It's definitely a startup environment. That's obviously exciting, but you can expect a high volume of challenging and unpredictable work. It's not all-consuming—I still definitely have a life—but it is very demanding.
