Pros

People in the SG office are nice.

Cons

This company may not be ideal for those who value transparent communication and inclusive collaboration across regional teams. In my experience, there’s a noticeable divide between the Shanghai and Singapore offices, which often leads to miscommunication and a lack of alignment. Cross-cultural collaboration is challenging, particularly for employees who are more comfortable communicating in English. Meetings advertised as bilingual or collaborative sometimes default heavily to Mandarin, and only the final decisions are communicated in English without much explanation or context. This often leaves non-Mandarin-speaking colleagues lost and unclear about the rationale behind key decisions. Even colleagues of Chinese nationality working outside of China have shared similar experiences of feeling excluded or mistrusted when trying to request materials or contribute ideas. While the company aspires to be global, internal processes and management structures appear to be underdeveloped, potentially due to rapid expansion. Better alignment, mutual respect, and clearer communication frameworks between regional teams would significantly improve the working environment.

Pros

- Appears to be “flat” and “open” in structure, which in reality only allows internal factions to grow freely. - You’ll learn one useful skill here: how to survive in a chaotic organization.

Cons

1. The so-called flat hierarchy actually breeds internal cliques and power struggles. Each group fights for its own interest, slowing down business progress to a crawl. 2. Forget about the company values in the employee handbook — “performance matters most” is just lip service. When layoffs come, what really matters is who flatters the boss more, or who belongs to his inner circle. 3. Leadership is absent, employees lack motivation, and the company culture is stagnant. There are almost no 1-on-1s or all-hands meetings; major decisions are made behind closed doors. 4. The Singapore team has no career growth path whatsoever. The company shows no interest in employees’ development — the model is simple: squeeze people dry, then replace them with new ones. 5. The Singapore office is being gradually weakened and replaced by the Shanghai team. The team lacks diversity, morale is low, and many people are just waiting for the next round of layoffs. This company excels at looking good from the outside but hides deep internal decay. Power matters more than merit, and the culture rewards survival over excellence.

Pros

- Colleagues are ok. - Work remote (with low pay)

Cons

Lack of transparency of information from the management and will only give you on close deadlines. They don't trust remote worker at all - always having issues with them. Layoffs is happening and still they are being secretive. Also layoff happened bc of the upper management, causing the whole team to be dispersed and laid off. Low pay and long hours. As a part of the global team, we were never informed of anything. Even if we do, information are usually very vague and you have to rely on your in-office workmates for it.
