Pros

Closed on Sundays, except at Christmas and New Years when you have to unload deliveries so the truck drivers aren't on the road for the holiday.

Cons

Where do I start? Too many ex Walmart managers with bad Walmart habits (me first mentality) looking to use Hobby Lobby for their benefit. HL is hiring them by the dozens and they use and abuse everyone they can (must be the walmart way). As a Co Manager I was salaried (read slave labor) and pushed to the breaking point by my SM and DM. What I thought was a great decision for my family turned into a nightmare!

Pros

Great benefits, Closed on Sundays, reasonable bonus goals. I consistently achieved 100% of my quarterly bonuses. Its a fast paced environment with a heavy focus on well paid full time associates. Approximately 70/30 full time to part time. Merchandise doesn't get stale, you are always on the leading edge of the next season. Styles and pricing are always competitive.

Cons

Outdated POS systems make checkouts and return little tedious. Ordering done with pencil and paper. After all of the culture and religious aspects it is still retail and comes with all of the trappings. Much of your happiness is dependant on the quality of your district and regional manager. Demand a lot from the store managers and co managers (replacement). Plan on setting something and condensing/moving it 3-5 times before it finally goes to clearance. DON'T do this if you can't tolerate being covered in glitter for 3 months a year.

Pros

Fair pay but the cons far outweigh the pro

Cons

I have 30 years retail experience and Hobby Lobby is the worst experience I have ever had. A schedule for hours was non existent. I never knew when I would be allowed to leave. While the company stands for all a Christian would want, at store level it is a joke. I would expect that more employees are turned from being a Christian after the experience. The song goes but they give sooooo much. All that glitters is not gold.
