Pros

Good pay, great team of employees, Sunday's off.....sometimes. I love what the company stands for and their values. Now the SM's get a Christmas Bonus no matter what when they used to not get one at all.

Cons

When you think it's going to get better, it doesn't. They changed the schedule last year for Managers in order for us to work less, it doesn't last long. DM and RVP come in and rip you. DM calls 30 minutes before your shift ends to tell you more stuff to be done before leaving, so your there until Midnight. So much of a disconnect between Corporate and Field Management.

Pros

Salary, hard working crew, and great customers. Good bonus structure that is achievable if you are paying attention.

Cons

Work week never ends. 12 to 14 hour days. Maybe get your day off, but not if you are behind. You are always behind. Micromanaged, with no assistance or useful direction. Cut hours but get more done. Customers are an interruption to the task, not the goal. Pay for hourly crew is good but hours are cut to make up for it. Makes for a very stressful environment. cut

Pros

The only "pro" is that the merchandise is fun to work with - creative items / products.

Cons

Shortly after accepting the co-manager position, the promises in the recruitment talks were rescinded. Sundays off are a lie, as they require management to work to set the new ad that starts every Monday morning. The plan was to stay after close on Saturday at 8 pm to set the ad signage, which mean 1 or 2 am before completing (Sunday morning) but after working 8 am - 8 pm (12 hours management shift) who would want to stay that long. So, you came in Sunday to complete the set. The senior management was part of the "family" owners so there was an imperialistic style of management and some very "non - christian" values coming out of the mouths of these "leaders".
