Pros

Product discount, closing at 8pm, set break times, closing does not take long at night.

Cons

Dinosaur POS systems. They're rude to you if you aren't religious. You get fired if you don't work the day after Thanksgiving. Manager was inappropriately close with a few female employees but I got fired for posting on my private Facebook page that it sucked having to work the day after Thanksgiving or you'd lose your job. Seriously? Illegal. The people I worked with were immature and ridiculous. They also called the cops on my sister after she was also fired (for having a trip planned the day after thanksgiving), saying she stole when she went in to look at paint for a project. Cops searched and found nothing. We never got an apology. I will never support this company. Ever.

Pros

good pay off on sunday

Cons

not closing the store when the weather is bad so the people can get home safely. they say they care about the people that work there but when there is a winter warning out and it is all ice you can not close early so everyone can get home safely, is it worth a few sales to let your people get hurt on the way home? i don't think so, come on hobby lobby live up to your words, start caring about your people that help you make that money. i don't think that mr. green knows how his management treats their people, he needs to know.

Pros

The customers are awesome and so is the merchandise. It's a lot of hard work if you are a department head but that can be rewarding if you take pride in what you do. Don't expect to hear "good job" or "that looks great" from management, they only know how to point out what is wrong..."I see tape residue"...."When did you dust this"....."Your glass needs cleaned"....."You can't leave until all of your stock is put out". It can get to me at times & I have a little pity party and remind myself that I just worked 11 hours without stopping (except for 30 min lunch) and my department shelves look so nice when they are full and my customers are enjoying themselves. I love getting to the merchandise and what items my customers buy the most of. I love the whole process; taking inventory of all the items in my department, placing my order for the next week, unloading my order from the truck, unpacking it, filling the shelves with the merchandise, and then listening to the customers that come in say "Ohhhh, this is sooo cute!". I don't need my manager to notice all the little details that I do to keep my department looking good, hearing the customers loving the little treasures that they find & then realizing its 50% off this week is enough for me. We hear a lot of stuff standing silently an isle away silently counting stock or zoning. LOL.

Cons

Truck days are when we earn our $14 an hour!!!!
