$10.00 an hour for full time employees (only) made rave media reviews but also imposed more restrictions and work requirements on full time employees, while cutting back on part time employment. According to management, there is zero restrictions with regards to how management can schedule employees regardless of how it may damage morale or an employee's ability to perform their job. Speaking of the insensitivity of management: in a recent meeting with our store manager we were told that "this is one of the easiest jobs you'll ever have." Anyone working in retail knows that retail work is not easy work and Hobby Lobby is no exception. Except for Sundays off, we put in the same number of hours, put as many miles on our feet, as many hours standing in one place at a register, we deal with the sames rude and nasty customers, and endure the same physical, emotional and cognitive exertion and stress as all other retail employees.

Pay. I was with HL for 10+ years. When the cost of living wages went up to $7.25/hr, mine was not affected. When full-time employees' wages went up to $10/hr, mine was not affected. Therefore new parttime employees received $1/hr less than I did and new and old fulltime workers received $1.75/hr more than I. They received this not because they were able to do a better job, but simply because government changed laws and HL felt people who were full time were more commited to HL and felt it was a career choice and therefore deserved additional moneys. Workload. I due believe you need to put in a day's work for a day's pay. Employees who worked on the floor were expected to help out in every department as needed as well as help cashier. At times, the various projects that were assigned to my designated department and/or the actualy department nightly cleanup could not be finished due to my spending too much time helping the cashiers (I was required to help when the mgmt had not scheduled enough cashiers) or helping out in other department (especially when a new season was approaching). Unfair employee treatment. At HL all employees (FT) are suppose to work every other Saturday and close one night a week. At the store that I worked at, there is one employee who never closes at night and always makes sure she has too many hours in before Saturday so she can not work it. If she does work a Saturday, it is for 1 or 2 hours maximum.
