Pros

Very fast paced, physical job. Great fellowship with employees. Comradery is awesome. Sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. Cure for insomnia.

Cons

Training, no family life. There is no balance between work and home life. Your life is hobby lobby. Open to close shifts multiple times weekly. Pay does not equal extreme pressure and deadlines. Expectations unrealistic. Company driven by greed and built off the broken backs of employees.

Pros

Decent hourly pay for all employees with the exception of upper management. Every other weekend off with exceptions.

Cons

I am in the process of writing a book about the cons of working for this "Christian based company" and the life I lost working for Hobby Lobby. I gave so much to this company and at the end of the day I was given a district manager who was intimidated by my abilities and my confidence as well as him being buddies with... See 1. 1. sexual harassment from my D.M. Within 2 weeks of the store set up process and lasted longer than it should have. Investigation and all, he gets a slap on the hand and then two years later receives a promotion to R.V.P. And I'm dancing around his presents. 2. You'll have to read the book, but I'll leave you with this... I've never worked for a more discriminating, degrading, male chauvinistic company in all my years and it's time that people know who/what this company stands behind.

Pros

Good Starting Wage. Employees are awesome and work hard for the store. Strong company and it will not go out of business anytime soon!

Cons

There is/was no quality of life....Store is open 66 hours per week. But as a co-manger my weekly hours were anywhere between 55-60. The open to close shift in my store was 7 am to 8:45pm. You did get a half hour lunch. Also store managers are too worried about their payroll bonus so they tend to leave the store under staffed at times. And most things are covered in glitter!!! Cheap stuff!!
