Pros

Sundays off. Really like my co-workers. I have gotten a lot of great craft ideas from working here.

Cons

Where do I start?!? I started with this company by going to an open interview advertising that Hobby Lobby was opening a new store and paying 14.00 an hour. I got the job...only to find out that it was seasonal at first, and IF you did an excellent job during setup they might hire you on after that. Setup. Setup sucks. Plain and simple. They work you to death. They don't take the time to learn your name. Oh, and you WILL work Sundays during setup. Then they either put you on register, or throw you into a department for grand opening without ANY practice or guidance. After grand opening the lies really start coming. First they told us they were keeping us all, at least through Christmas. Then, they secretly called a handful of people into the office (by handful I literally mean like 5 or 6) and gave them full time. These people were told NOT to tell anyone else, because the store manager didn't want everyone getting mad. As if the rest of us couldn't figure it out on our own! The rest of us were kept on part time...and by part time I mean some of us had 8 hours and some of us had 20. Then after 2 weeks we were told our hours were getting cut even more. There is no way you can survive off of 10 hours. If you question anything they treat you like you are dumb. They completely disrespect woman, and think less of them then the men that work there. Also, and I do not know if this is just the case with the Hobby Lobby I work for or the way all of them are ran, but our schedule is posted on Friday or Saturday for the next week. That leaves one day (Sunday) to plan your week accordingly. I hate that so much. I am not one to take the time to write a review, in fact this is the first time I ever have. I just cannot stand the way I have been treated by this company. Going into this job, I loved the company and was very excited to start a career here. I can honestly say that I think the companys whole "Christian" theme, is just a scam. I no longer admire this company, and if you work for them you will see if for yourself.

Pros

Closed on Sundays, unless they tell you to work additional hours.

Cons

Worst manager I have ever dealt with. Being hateful and vindictive made her day. A real witch! Refused to train, teach and even talk to me. Every question was answered with :"it's in the PPM (policy and procedure manual)".

Pros

Pays above average for retail, have Sundays off, oh that's it.

Cons

Hobby lobby will come to town they will advertise paying $14/hr , they will hire 150 people part-time for $9.50 so not one will be full time. They will work you to death for 2 weeks then will let go 90% from over staffing they will take 6 full-time. You will work Sundays and evenings durning this time and will have to provide your own work gloves and knee pads, and uniforms which are tan slacks and navy blue tops. They are opening so many new stores this year there management are all new too so they have no clue what's going on.
