Pros

Good interaction with guests, freedom for problem solving. Job was solid as overnight Audit for 2.5 years, pay was average, and problems could occasionally be engaging.

Cons

No management interaction. So there was never any reinforcement for my work. When I started I had to hunt down management to make sure my work was ok. There was no encouragement for problems handled well, and no chance to work up since they never saw my guest interactions.

Pros

Guest Interactions IHG is a great parent company

Cons

Independantly owned so corporate has little control over day to day activities. Salary SUCKS. I have the duties of a GM but make $23,000 a year. I told management of my salary requirements in 2 seperate interviews, after 60 days their offer was way less than what I expected. The GM is a nice guy, but totally unsuited for this business, he has owned the property for 10 years and would not even be able to check a guest in or cover a shift if he had to. Totally unrealistic behavior for a General Maqnager of a property.
