Pros

If the owners treat the property as a long term investment and are willing to fill the role of housekeeper or night auditor themselves if need be, it can be a decent place to work with actual career mobility.

Cons

Many owners are absentee landlords, leading to a culture of short term gains and borderline abusive management. It seems common of many GMs and owners to think less of the staff for being under their employ. The turnover rate is one of the highest in the service industry, with many franchises wanting to hire "zombie" employees with no individual desire to increase revenue, simply because of a desire to stay at minimum wage.

Pros

None I can think of off the top of my head

Cons

Low pay, .25 cent raises, little upward mobility, lack of employee incentives, all feedback is negative with little positive feedback, a nightmare of an organization! The last 3 weeks the front desk agents haven't even had A/C...I'am looking at the thermostat right now and it reads 88 degrees
