Pros

A lot of hours if you want them, ability to bring home $1,000 a week after taxes

Cons

You're only hired on part-time during the summer so they don't have to give you health insurance, but still expect you to work 70 hours a week- and then in the winter you're only kept on as full-time if you're high enough in the totem pole. Otherwise expect to be laid off in November. They claim to pay you both hourly plus commission, the truth is they only pay you whichever one is higher for that. They're not 100% honest about this and you have to actually ask in detail about it to get the truth

Pros

Learned the business from the bottom up starting as a driver. Every day was a different challenge. Local and surrounding operations had your back when needed.

Cons

Much lower salary than industry standard in the area for similar roles. Bonus structure was not always clearly defined and almost always fell out of favor of the managers when changes were made. Hours worked exceeded expected hours to be worked when job duties and salary negotiations were set. Expected to cut workforce and pick up those duties during tight budgeting parts of the year while still maintaining management duties in order to hit the unrealistic bonus programs. Terrible work/life balance. Changes made over the years made it feel like less of a family owned atmosphere and more of a corporate monopoly, thus straying away from it's initial focus on customer service and taking care of their own employees.
