      Taxing yet rewarding with time & monetary challenges.

      Pros

      You can meat some wonderful people. Learning how other people live, their expectations and different ways of thinking & coping can be mind-broadening. Majority of Home Instead people are great to work with and are positive & encouraging. You have the ability to make a big difference in peoples lives and deaths.

      Cons

      A bad day at work is when client dies. Injuries and exposure to contagious diseases are not uncommon. You may have TVs or music at extremely loud volumes all day (or night). Some clients are abusive and use profane language. Not uncommon to be referred to as a 'girl' and assumed to have little education or knowledge by both clients and their family and friends and other professionals dealing with your client. There is no paid time off. Schedules can change frequently. If your client is in the hospital, you may not have much or any work during that time. If your client dies, it may take awhile to get another full-time client.

      Pros

      It's rewarding Very easy to get a job as they are almost always hiring Flexible hours Frequent communication from the office

      Cons

      They often call at the last minute asking you to do a fill in. I can't tell you how many 8 am calls I've gotten asking me to be at a clients house at 10 am They often do not bother checking your schedule before calling and asking you to work a shift you sometimes have to drive outside of your city for like a 3 hour shift and are not compensated for travel Pay isnot terrible but could be better
