I have worked for HomeInstead for 2 years and honestly the Mason, Ohio location is the most unprofessional and disorganized office. They have lost all but 1 office staff member over the last year plus (1 original girl stayed) and new office staff hires don't last long either. I have no clue how many caregivers leave except for the numerous fill-in requests we receive daily.
The Office staff never return our phone calls and they do not communicate between each other. Inexperience caregivers are hired and sent out without any information on the client or how to care for them. The experience caregivers are the ones that train them however, we do not receive any training pay because we're told just to show them the JOB.
There use to be introductions for new clients and caregivers but now we go in blind. We're told not to lift over 25 lbs however this is constantly overlooked. Omaha should investigate the staff losses and the workman's comp claims.
We're not suppose to directly give medication but its overlooked for the fully disabled clients. Why is this allowed? It"s all for the MONEY. They do not survey past clients as far as I know Omaha doesn't either. why not???
I would want to know what I could do to improve or why the clients quit our business... The owners are clueless and in Florida....
The caregiver surveys are a joke and they hand pick certain caregivers to come in and give feedback..
No one checks up on management, staff and caregivers.. and there's nothing in place to do so.
I stay for the flexible hours until I can find another job.
