Pros

HomeServe is great to work for, it has a people and customer charter with excellent values. All management are very easy to approach, they are always accepting of new ideas and how we can improve. HomeServe helpes people to develop whether it is in their current role or move to a desired role. The marketing team is a great place to work.

Cons

Sometimes 'fun' can seem a bit forced, people should be able to take part in what they want to and not be forced to have fun.

Pros

i've worked here for 9 years now, through the good and bad times. Where as before any changes always seemed a bit like lip service, the culture shift over the last few years seems absolutely real, focussing both on the Customer and the People. Although there have been lots of changes in more senior management, these have happened for the right reasons. For those of us who have been here a long time, I believe it's the first time there are real career progression opportunities.

Cons

Some parts of the campus are tired; the car park needs re-surfacing, the canteen can be a bit hit and miss; but there have been lots of changes in the buildings that are really helping

Pros

I first joined as an engineer working in and around the south area. Right from the start the company felt like it would be a great company to work for and it is. The company is very engaging , my managers past and present listen to any ideas and concerns and act on them. I was lucky to be asked, by my current manager, to apply for a safety officer position. Due to my back ground and trade they believed i would be a great asset to have on their team. I have never known any other company to think like that. I was an engineer for 2 years and now a Safety Officer for the Central region. I am, in the next couple of months, being put thought my NEBOSH general cert. throughout my time at HomeServe i have been asked and i have asked for course's and not one has been denied (providing its work related of course). I live in Crawley Sussex and work in Walsall West Midlands and would not change it.

Cons

As and engineer it was the shift patterns and trying to get a good work life balance, working in the office and out in the field communications can be a struggle.
