Pros

Good working atmosphere and lots of staff engagement organised

Cons

Money is spent on bringing in senior management from outside into newly created roles. Can be cliquey, and if your face fits, you can move on, if not, or if you're in a lower end role, the only way to move up is to apply. Promotions for people who deserve it can be looked over. Banding of pay structure can be a farce.

Pros

The people really make the company, everyone is positive and friendly. There is lots of team moral. The company has come a long way, they care for their customers and colleagues. There is always something going on such as Halloween funfairs and celebrating the world cup by having activities outside, everyone can get involved, it's something most employers do not even think to do. Free fresh fruit on certain days! Yum! (it's healthy too) There's always some kind of junk food floating around to balance it out though haha! :) Little kind gestures like giving us a HomeServe ice scrapper in the winter for our cars! Thanks :)

Cons

People on the phones need rewarding more often as they work really hard, especially warranty who take lots of different calls. Progression in the company is getting better, however, I think opportunities for higher paid roles requiring a degree should be offered to internal colleagues before being offered externally. Booking holiday is a bit of a pain. Calling in sick is a nightmare and you feel like your doing something wrong by being off sick.
