Pros

In the time I have been with HomeServe there have been many changes, the majority of which have been improvements. The SMT believe in transparency and practice what they preach. People feel free to express opinions and know they will be listened to. HomeServe is focused on doing the right thing for both it's customers and staff, rectifying the wrongs which have happened in the past. It feels like a family working for HomeServe.

Cons

The contractual working hours are 40hrs per week. This is very unusual and think that it would be great if it could be reduced to an industry standard of 35.7 hpw. The contract does not pay sick pay for the first 12 months of the contract.

Great Place to Work

Pros

A few years ago, through sheer luck, I was fortunate enough to land at HomeServe. In that time I've seen it re-invent itself as a company that truly puts the customer first. Had I not seen it for myself, I wouldn't have thought it possible, but it really is such a different company now to the one I joined, and it shows that with enough hard work and commitment what can be achieved. I've always moved around, but just can't see me leaving this place. If you want to work for a company that is passionate about it's customers above all else, then this is a great place.

Cons

With only 3 main locations in the UK (Preston, Walsall, Banbury), working here could be an pretty exclusive club, but if you are willing to move location if you don't live nearby, it's well worth a look.

Pros

Having predominantly worked in TV and the arts I really wasn't expecting to have SO MUCH FUN at HomeServe! Eight months ago I took on this role with the mind-set that getting a boring day job would encourage me to focus on other projects I’d planned to work on in my spare time. Boring I said… my, oh my, was I wrong! At HomeServe senior leaders hold no bars on creativity and as someone in a creative role this was music to my ears! Of course the creative element is just one function but what I’ve discovered is that regardless of department or role, whatever your skill, if you’re a hard worker and passionate about what you do you will succeed at HomeServe. On another note, have you ever worked in a place where the Chief Marketing Officer buys everyone pizza (and I’m talking 325 pizzas!) just because? No, me neither, up until now. So if you’re looking for a place where you’ll be valued as an employee, HomeServe is the place for you. If you’re looking for a place with great career progression, HomeServe is the place for you. AND most importantly for me – if you’re looking for a place where people are passionate about the work they do, HomeServe is the place for you. There’s a real sense of family at HomeServe and it’s a family I am proud to be part of.

Cons

I really can't think of any.
