Pros

Company has very loose organizational structure so it is possible for younger employees to get varied experience and work above their position on projects. You can increase your responsibilities according to your abilities at a very swift pace. Competent employees can pad their resume in a short time period.

Cons

Compensation: Below market to begin with and static. Company does not give raises, reserves bonuses and commission to salespeople, no annual reviews, horrible benefits that decrease annually, and zero employee appreciation outside of sales teams. The best and brightest keep the incompetent afloat and jump ship as soon as they can find a better paying job. Company makes no effort to retain competent, hard-working employees and encourages brain drain and loss of institutional knowledge rather than pay market compensation rates to retain high-performing employees. Company's organizational hierarchy is a bottle neck with every decision being made by the president/owner. Long-term employees tend to be those whose greatest ambition is to not lose their job - which leads to department heads sticking their heads in the sand and ignoring problems. The few competent carry the many incompetent/unwilling. Company is still run like a family business despite the fact that its sheer size has made its autocratic, single decision-maker model impossible to sustain and unwieldy. Long-Term: the company is growing at break-neck speed with little concern for long-term sustainability. The “growth at all cost” policy belies a short-term strategy of maximizing the current value for a sale to a larger competitor who will strip its revenue sources and jettison its personnel. Do not leave a job to work here. If you are currently between jobs, accept any offer of employment, push back on compensation offered, get as much experience and pad your resume while planning your exit strategy.

Pros

The company is a great company to work for. Corporate upper leadership seems like they really care about their employees. The owner does a lot of nice things for her employees. We’ve had Health Awareness Checks, She shows us she appreciates us with Employee Appreciation Days where she will buy her employees, lunch, basketball tickets, and airline tickets to Florida to attend the 5K run. Overall Hotwire Communications is a great company to work for.

Cons

Now here is where the problems lies. The manager in Florida: awesome The manager in Philadelphia: awesome But that manager that we have here in Georgia: Recipe for Disaster. She doesn’t even deserve to have the title as manager. She is lazy, she doesn’t know ANYTHING, she is rude, arrogant, She has a very smart mouth. When I tell you this woman is lazy, she is LAZY. All she does is sits in her office and watch TV doing absolutely NOTHING. She doesn’t know ANYTHING, so going to her to help you fix a customer’s issue is a complete waste of time. The first thing she will ask you is did you see your Supervisor or team lead. Why would you send me to them, when they don’t even know, and they are new. I feel so sorry for the supervisors and team leads. If she feels like they did something wrong to make her look bad, she will yell at them and blame them for her lack of knowledge. They won’t say anything because they fear that they will lose their job. She will retaliate against you in a heartbeat. She will be nosy and start pulling reps in her office to find out who snitched on her, and when she finds out, she will do everything in her power to get them fired. She comes to work when she feels like it, She is so quick to monitor our time punches, but who’s monitoring hers. She comes in everyday around 9:15 am and 9:30 am to avoid being stuck in traffic, But if the reps come in 2 minutes late, she is sitting in her office like a an untamed pit bull, scoping out the phone logs to see who her next victim is. But when corporate comes to town, she is in the office bright and early, speaking to people like she does this everyday. She is a fraud and she is so fake. She tries to make corporate believe that she is doing all of these amazing things in Georgia, but the only thing she is doing is making everyone quit and stressing people out. Over 5 reps has resigned including myself. She is good at making herself look good, and she will do anything possible to maintain this fake image she has everyone believing She makes all of the supervisors and team leads do all of her work, and the only time she will pretend to do some work is when corporate is in town, and she will only get involved if affects the fake image she tries portrays. She focuses more on gossip than she does trying to learn about how to fix accounts. Her favorite word is did you reach out to this person or that person. How about NO. Im reaching out to you, because Hotwire is paying you for us to reach out to you. How about you stop being lazy and do your own work. This person is awful. Seriously, and after all of the complaints she has been getting, I just cannot understand how she is still there. She really believes that she is invincible and has said so to several people, so many times. She doesn’t follow Hotwires Handbook. She makes up her own rules and regulations. She changes the Handbook to suit her fake image. She skips disciplinary steps, and She will go from a verbal to a final in the same day, depending on how mad you make her.

Pros

There are some really great people who work for this company.

Cons

Terrible upper and middle management. Awful morale. No motivation to do great things here because raises and bonuses are nearly impossible. Also no recognition if you do something great.
