Pros

Students, faculty (esp. those who step-up beyond the role of educators to buffer students from administration's shortcomings, including lack of functionality/resources), select colleague friendships, university mission, meaningful work.

Cons

Corrupt leadership, dishonest BOT statements/optics, illegal HR practices (including bullying employees and falsifying documents--like employee evaluations and leave records--so paper-trails don't reveal organizational liability), administrative staff promotions based on cronyism as opposed to merit/integrity/education/skill/qualifications, president selects cabinet members from familial/personal friends (and inflates their resumes to navigate official selection processes and present a front in announcing their appointments) and then those leaders in turn lead/hire incompetently, president and cronies maliciously target those with dissenting opinions and execute career sabotage to appear as organic layoffs or willing resignations (this can be for an offense as slight as not standing, low morale, toxic environment (literal for most facilities and figurative for org. culture) , destructive/politics-based micromanagement and illegal practices by unskilled mid/senior-level managers, lack of (genuine) leadership focus on students/alumni/mission/education/employees as opposed to self-interest, lack of professionalism (esp. amongst cronyism hires), senior leadership's exorbitant salaries are incongruous with university's dire financial situation, no work-life balance, no opportunities for meritorious advancement.

Pros

exposed the Mecca myth, Federal oversight coming

Cons

Inbred environment, promote based on familiarity not merit. Dishonest. Disloyal. Poor benefits - healthcare at HUH (ugh), use your leave for winter and spring break, payroll failed to take proper deductions, parking too high
