We're a Family

Pros

When you're thinking of somewhere to work, you look for a company who appreciates every fiber of what you offer. In my experience, Hudl holds true to this, providing a family-first environment with competitive benefits. Always improving between their products and processes, they're bringing value to the entire sports industry. On top of the perks like free lunch, unlimited vacation, 401k matching, five year sabbatical, professional development (the list goes on), they find ways to reward their employees for hard work. If you're looking for a challenge in one of the top-tech companies of the midwest, Hudl's the place for you!

Cons

While there tends to be advancement in the various business units, there can be challenges facing the support departments to stay within this team. This is a constant work in progress and there's been some movement over the past few years towards this.

Pros

I think Hudl is in good hands, as far as senior leadership and the board is concerned. They don't get everything right, but they're incredibly earnest. They listen and want to do the right thing. When they realize they've done something that wasn't the right thing, they don't hide it. They apologize and are willing to take the necessary steps to right their wrongs. There is a strong emphasis placed on transparency. They value their people. Hudl has an exciting atmosphere, even remotely. They've really leaned into their hybrid in-office/work from home structure, and I think they're doing a great job of keeping employees connected, even if physically apart.

Cons

As is probably true of any company its size, things at Hudl are always changing. In some ways that can be nice. Recently it has felt exhausting. Structural changes happen frequently. It has been this way the entire four years I've worked at Hudl.

With Growth Comes Opportunities

Pros

As the company continues to grow and expand, there are so many potential opportunities for employees to build new skills and experiences, almost always in real-time on the job. Leaders put a lot of faith in the folks we bring in to the team which is really exciting if you're looking for a chance to grow and contribute at the same time. It's almost like a year working at Hudl is worth a year and a half somewhere else, because of how much you can achieve in making yourself better—and have the results and experience on your resume to prove it.

Cons

When a lot is changing...and especially when the *rates* of change differ from region to region or department to department, it is challenging to create practices and policies that scale across the whole business. Depending on who heads up your office, region, department, etc. it's possible to have an inconsistent experience as a Hudlie.
