Pros

The people A fancy coffee machine

Cons

No more work from home at all. 100% in person, pretty much every one time request to wfh gets denied. We used to have be hybrid, they took that away. they used to be flexible on when you arrive and leave, they took that away. They used to have free lunch sometimes, they took that away. And to top it off, we got the most snow in a decade and their response to people being concerned about safety trying to come in was "if you feel conditions are too dangerous, take PTO." They were still forcing us to drive to work in the worst conditions ive seen in Maryland in years

Pros

The people there are very hardworking good people.

Cons

New CEO, does not care about the employees at all. He has taken away every benefit that would attract and retain great employees. Employees are leaving in droves. They took away all remote work, (that was after assuring employees that they would be hybrid), the small stipend for cell phones was taken away, the health care (Cigna) is the worst policy with a high deductible, and doesn't cover much. Morale in the past year has been extremely low. No raises in 2024, very very small bonuses, Raises in the past have only been 1%-1.5%. which is extremely low compared to other organizations which typically have raises of 2%-3%. Have gone through multiple layoffs in the last 2 years. (Some layoffs were done very quietly, without notice). Too many executive level employees are living in the past b/c most of them have been at the company for 30-40years, and any younger employees that were hired over the last couple of years have already left the company or are looking to leave. Its unfortunate, that this company is living in the past and has chosen to lie to employees on several occasions, first being, about remote work, second about layoffs. They only offer 15 days PTO that you have to accrue, no sick time and no personal time. As for holidays they only offer about 6 holidays, which is well below the norm for the industry. Unfortunately, this company is not stable at this time.

Pros

No pros at all. A place where I saw some smart engineers kill their career for the sake of H1B.

Cons

Incompetent management, very tribal mentality, simple tech stack and too resistant for trying new thing. They just circulate old tech. Sad part is I know few good engineers who are stuck there because of visa issue. They hire international student s who needs visa sponsorship, and take advantage of that. Unless you have no option to work anywhere don’t come to this place. It will be a career suicide. Leadership is so incompetent that they wouldn’t survive themselves outside of HNS.
