Brilliant coworkers, otherwise challenging management environment

Pros

Had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest and most dedicated advocates in my time at Human Rights First -- really enjoyed getting to learn from them and to work with them

Cons

Enormous disconnect between executive leadership and staff The organization feels a little directionless -- priorities feel as if they shift dramatically with little communication, and there is almost no transparency on how resources are allocated to programs throughout the organization Difficult to advance -- promotions were largely only offered to those already in senior management roles

Pros

The work that Human Rights First does is very meaningful, and the coworkers make the job worthwhile.

Cons

Low salary, no room for upward growth, and a lack of investment in employees make the organization hard for work for.
