Pros

Depending on the Department, can be a positive experience.

Cons

Constantly cutting staff and making those left to do more and more (unreasonable). Reward those who are non-genuine and self-serving. Many times extreme favoritism is shown by Management. Beware if you are in Sales or Underwriting. Raises, if you even get one, are very skimpy. They down-size and then in a year post of the same position.

Pros

I had some very good friends when I worked there. We were all in the came boat if your weren't management.

Cons

Micromanagement is an understatement. Everything was a secret. Weren't allowed to give parting associates even a card. If you leave your Dept. never ask to come back unless you are a snitch. I was with them close to 17 years and was making great money. So, they "cut the fat" so to speak by fired me and hired 2 in my place at half the amount. Management didn't like me because I was "gay friendly". Now, Humana is all about gay pride. It was these particular managers who didn't send out the GLBT newsletters to their employes. Then, they tried to keep me from getting unemployment due to sexual harassment. That had never come up during my one on one meetings while on corrective action. I thought the lady at the unemployment office was going to crack up about that. As I said, I'm pro gay, not gay. Two hour lunches for management but you better not be away from your desk more than that 2/15 min break and that hour for lunch. They give you extra projects and still expect you to make your production. You were expected to be there early and leave late most evenings. Working at a factory was more fun. At least you could laugh out loud. I haven't been able to get a job since being fired as I think the manager there is going behind by back and telling tells. Will be investigating that in the near future. They care more about statistics than their members and associates. Run away! Run away! LOL

Pros

One reason I like Humana is that it's one of the largest employers in Louisville. With such a large base in my hometown they are invested in the community and pride in promoting wellness throughout the state.

Cons

In such a large organization, it is easy for new employees to feel lost and overwhelmed when trying to figure out the ropes.
