Pros

I am able to work from home and flex my time as needed. They have wonderful medical and personal benefits with a competitive salary.

Cons

They do focus on numbers a lot which can be stressful and take away from the nursing portion of the job. You have two weeks of training away from home.

Pros

Communicating the merger with Aetna could have been better. Sending an email with the news Friday at 2:18 am before the 4th of July weekend was great from a corporate standpoint but was like a slap in the face for the employees.

Cons

Still a good company to work for at least for another year. Who knows what will happen next.

Pros

Corporate campus in Louisville is incredible!

Cons

Corporate culture has always been to get the job, show up and then be lost for 2 weeks minimum. Most leaders do not have a clue what to do for you, because they were lost coming into their roles. It’s the uncomfortable running joke in Humana for over a decade. Leaders are chosen by loyalty. Several programs within Humana help to hire, elevate & promote based on demographics over experience. This merely spreads the inadequate talent into neighboring depts. as those demographics prevent firing. Leaders are toxic, bullies & sexual predators. HR protects leaders, not employees under these conditions. Reporting an issue to HR about your manager, will get a meeting with your manager for you to discuss your issue. You have no HR support as an employee. Organization changes frequently, which causes over hiring that results in mass layoffs, repeatedly. And there are NO leaders standing up for your job security.
